Smoking

Glen view resort discourages smoking. Smoking is NOT permitted in the common areas. You are free to smoke at the designated smoking area OR in the balcony of your own room. While in the balcony of your room, please ensure that the doors are closed, so that the smoke does not enter the room. Also please ensure that the cigarette butts are extinguished and placed in ashtray before leaving the area.

Alcohol

Glen view resort does not serve alcohol. Alcohol from Karnataka state is not permitted. Should you bring your own alcohol, please note that consumption must be restricted to ONLY your area of accommodation.

Littering

Littering is against the Law.

There are dustbins provided in every room and common areas for waste. If you are smoking, please ask the staff for an ashtray for your room balcony/veranda. Glen view urges you to avoid using plastic bags and other bio non-degradable materials.

Leave the place in its own state of beauty, so that you can enjoy it on your every visit.

Safety

Please follow the below instructions to make your stay pleasant and safe

  • Avoid wearing or carrying items with bright colours; opt for neutral colours like brown, olive green, khaki and beige, which will help you blend into the nature
  • Do not feed the animals or attempt to catch their attention by throwing stones or making noises, this can frighten them away or provoke them to attack — elephants especially can be very aggressive and cause fatalities
  • Silence is golden, in the forests (especially while on safari); if you are carrying a cell phone, set it to silent mode
  • Never walk in the wilderness alone; always request for a staff member to accompany you when you are walking to a distance
  • Always make sure to lock the doors and keep the windows closed, especially while sleeping and stepping out — you wouldn’t want any animal friends paying you surprise visits

Flash Photography

Using flash during photography can frighten animals away or provoke them to attack. Please avoid using flash.

Loud Sounds

Forest department disallows playing loud music or making loud noises. This disturbs wildlife.

Pets

Bringing pets to Glen View is strictly prohibited, keeping in mind the convenience of other guests and wildlife.

Banned or Illegal Substances

Possession, consumption, or distribution of banned or illegal substances in any form is strictly prohibited and can attract severe penalties/prosecution by law enforcement.

Rights of Admission

Glen View reserves the rights of admission. It is our responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of our guests. Individuals or groups may be asked to leave if they are causing nuisance within the property, disturbing other guests, creating ruckus or endangering the security of guests, staff or wildlife.

Wildlife Laws

The government of India has very strict adherence to Indian Wildlife Laws. Violation of the law can result in up to 6 years imprisonment.

The term “wildlife” includes – any mammals, birds, replies, bees, butterflies, crustacean, fish and moths; and aquatic or land vegetation which forms part of any habitat. The key guidelines to follow while you are at Mudhumalai

  • Wildlife is precious, do not destroy, exploit or remove any wildlife from the area or destroy or damage the habitat of any wild animal or deprive any wild animal or its habitat within the area
  • Hunting is a criminal offence
  • Do not possess, sell, offer for sale, or transfer by way of gift or otherwise, or transport any wildlife whether alive or dead, or part or derivative thereof
  • Do not pick, uproot, damage destroy, acquire or collect any plant (dead or alive)
  • Do not set fire, or kindle any fire, or leave any fire burning
  • Do not litter the area, use the bins that are marked and strategically placed in the area at all times
  • Do not carry any firearms or weapons or injuries substances (like chemicals and explosives); exception to this are licensed-firearm owners; owners must declare their licensed firearms at the Mudumalai forest office
